Rules of the Playground

Last Updated: 14 November 2025

1. The “You’re Already In It” Clause

If you’re reading this, congratulations, you’re using our site. If you’re using our site, you’re agreeing to these terms.

Yes, just being here binds you to this. It’s like walking into a party—you’re expected to not set the couch on fire. This is us handing you the list of “Don’t Set the Couch on Fire” rules. You don’t have to “sign” anything. Your presence is your signature.

2. Don’t Be a Terrible Person (Use of Site)

We built this digital space. It’s our house. Behave.

This means:

  • Don’t Hack Us: Don’t try to break our stuff. We’re literal ninjas. We will find your poorly-hidden IP, and we will be very, very disappointed in you. Then we’ll block you.

  • Don’t Steal Our Stuff: This is the “Don’t Be a Content Thief” part. Our witty copy, our case studies, our code snippets—they’re ours. You can look, but you can’t “right-click, save as” and claim it as your own. That’s just lazy.

  • Don’t Be a Spammer: Don’t use our contact forms to sell us crypto, offer “guest posts” about dog grooming, or tell us our “SEO is lacking.” We know. We’re busy.

If you do any of this, we’ll ban you. Simple.

3. Intellectual Property (Who Owns What)

This is the part where we draw lines in the sand.

  • Our Stuff: Our logo, our brand, our code, this borderline-offensive text you’re reading? Ours.

  • Your Stuff: Your project briefs, your brand assets, your trade secrets, your “Keys to the Kingdom” (logins)? Yours.

We’re not here to steal your idea. We have a backlog of our own bad ideas to work through. You’re paying us to use your stuff to build your thing. We’re the builders, you’re the architect. We won’t sell your blueprints.

4. The “Pay Us. Just Pay Us.” Clause

This is the most important part, so read it twice.

We are a business. We are not a charity. We are not your rich uncle.

We do work. You get an invoice. You pay the invoice.

It’s a beautiful, simple, centuries-old transaction. If you break this sacred vow—if you “ghost” us, “forget” to pay, or try to “re-negotiate” after the work is done—we will unleash the full, unholy, and terribly bureaucratic power of our collections process.

This may include (but is not limited to):

  • Ceasing all work immediately.

  • Revoking your access to the “Keys to theKingdom.”

  • Your site “mysteriously” going down for “unpaid maintenance.”

  • Sending your invoice to people who are much, much less funny than we are.

We are not a bank. We do not do “payment plans” unless we’ve agreed to it in a blood-oath. Pay your bills. Don’t make it weird.

5. Limitation of Liability (The “We’re Not Gods” Clause)

We are very, very good at what we do. But we are not omniscient, omnipotent, or immune to a server farm in Frankfurt being struck by lightning.

We are not liable for:

  • Your Bad Business Ideas: If you hire us to build a website selling left-handed spatulas and it fails, that’s not on us. We just built the shelf; you stocked it.

  • Acts of God: Floods, fires, alien invasions, or (more likely) Google releasing an algorithm update that guts your traffic.

  • You Breaking It: If we hand you a perfectly good website and you go in and “just change one little thing” and the whole thing implodes… that’s your new website. (We’ll charge you to fix it, though. We’re not monsters.)

We are liable for our direct, provable, “oh-crap-we-really-messed-that-up” mistakes. We’ll fix those, on our dime. That’s our promise.

6. The “We Can Fire You, Too” Clause (Termination)

You can fire us at any time. (Please pay your final bill on the way out.)

And… this is a two-way street. We can fire you.

If you are a nightmare client—if you’re abusive to our team, demand 47 revisions of a button color, or call us at 2 AM to “just brainstorm”—we will terminate this relationship. We will pack up your digital files, send you a final (fully-paid) invoice, and wish you the absolute best of luck in your future endeavors.

Life is too short to work with assholes.

7. The “Home Turf” Clause (Governing Law)

If this all goes to hell in a handbasket and you decide to sue us—which, wow, bold move—you’ll be doing it on our home turf. All legal squabbles will be handled by the courts of South Africa.
